Meet the GENERAL PARTNER of the ‘Best Medical Practice: The Sun of Georgia’ conference – MD, Professor ANZOR MELIA

MD, Professor Anzor Melia, Head of the Cardiological Clinic ‘Guli’ 

Anzor Melia was born on August 5, 1947 in Zugdidi, got medical degree in Moscow and in 1986 passed Ph.D. defense at the same place. In 1986-1996 he was head of the heart disease department at the city hospital, since April 1996 he has been the head of the ‘Guli’ clinic. He is an honorary member of the cardiology association of both Georgia and Europe and has published over 50 scientific works. In 2005 he received a Medal of Honor. In 1992 Anzor Melia founded the first private hospital ‘Vagi’, in which many famous interns-cardiologists worked: Tamaz Shaburishvili, Gigi Khabeishvili, Devan Metreveli and others. Then the intensive care unit was transferred to the first city hospital, to Department of Cardiology. Later the ‘Guli’ clinic was opened.

Cardiological clinic ‘Guli’ is the first private hospital in the reformation period. This was an attempt to create a highly experienced cardiology department based on western values, banking structures and modern standards. As a result of hard work of Anzor Melia and his team, the centre, which has been at the leading edge from the very first day of its foundation, was opened. The clinic is fitted with modern equipment; the staff consists of young, talented specialists, most of whom have gained experience abroad. Professionalism and high quality of service is our key to success.

Public hearing ‘Practical implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals’ in Geneva, Switzerland (20 February, 2020)

On 20 February 2020 26 companies from 19 countries attended and took an active part in the Public Hearing conducted at UN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The topic of the gathering was ‘Practical Implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals. Focus: Business Ethics. CSR and Work of Anti-Fake News Agency Oxford'.

Bearing Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR means that businesses strive for better, sustainable well-being for all and in the essential spheres as creating new working places, facilitating education and healthcare evolve. CSR-oriented organizations focus also on green environment projects, provide for charity and valuable donations for the less protected community members. All these and many more activities are in the scope of UN global sustainable development goals.

Presented companies pace with times and carry on a business and social activities for the greater good of the nation. As a member of the EBA Global community participants enjoyed a privilege to speak up about corporate achievements and share experiences with other national-sized market players from 19 countries, who also belong to the EBA Global from Oxford, UK.

EBA statement to ECOSOC

Europe Business Assembly In its capacity as NGO with consultative status with the Economic and Social Council submitted an important statement to ECOSOC, the United Nations High Level Segment forum.

The Secretary-General has received the statement, which is being circulated in accordance with paragraphs 30 and 31 of Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31.

What is it?

ECOSOC High-Level Segment - The theme of the 2020 session of ECOSOC is "Accelerated action and transformative pathways: realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development".

Held on an annual basis, the High-level Segment (HLS) forum represents the culmination of ECOSOC's annual cycle of work and convenes a diverse group of high-level representatives from Government, the private sector, civil society and academia.

Europe Business Assembly initiates Public Hearing ‘Practical implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals’

This New 2020 Year promises to be very eventful and Europe Business Assembly (Oxford, UK) – the international community of business, economy and science leaders, an institution having special consultative status in Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) under the United Nations starts it with the Public Hearing ‘Practical implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals’ in the very heart of the United Nations – the Palace of Nations, Geneva, Switzerland. 

Europe Business Assembly encourages the regional business, science, education and healthcare elite to support and promote UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and involves them in the dialogue on the implementation of said goals, other international agreements, and programmes in the field of sustainable development.

During the meeting, there will be the opportunity to discuss how to integrate SDG policy into your current business model, how to combine the principles of SDGs and economic benefits, as well as demonstrate achievements in this area.
