On May 30, the Cooperativa Nacional De Seguros, Inc. (COOP-SEGUROS) was incorporated under the presidential decree of then President Doctor Joaquín Balaguer with #212-89, which gave it legal force within the framework of the law. 127 on cooperatives.

After several months of hard work, the cooperative begins with its General Constituent Assembly on March 4 of the same year, with the members of the management committee:

The project under the scheme begins in its constituent assembly held on August 18, 1989, already incorporated, being elected its first president Mr. Miguel Valenzuela. We are the only insurer in the country under the cooperative modality, doubly regulated by the Superintendence of Insurance and Bonds, IDECOOP.
