Description
Prostacheck was founded as a medical center in 1997 by Dr. Álvaro Ramallo Zamora and his father Dr. José Ramallo Guillén, a pioneer in the specialty of urology and nephrology in the city of Tarija, Bolivia. This year (2022) Prostacheck celebrates 25 years of care and service not only to the population of Tarija, but to the entire Bolivian population, whose values are based on solidarity, humility, commitment and human quality. In fact, it is important to know that this project has always had the projection of growth and expansion, starting with two doctors (the founders) and it is motivating to know that it currently has more than 30 workers.
Prostacheck brought innovation to the field, starting with the worldwide prostate week event, which consists of a preventive prostate check-up, which is carried out annually for the week of Father's Day in Bolivia, on 19 March. Years later, Bolivia also innovated by implementing the Green Lasser to the recently implemented state-of-the-art technology, the Red Lasser.
Subsequently, in 2017 the Dr. José Ramallo Guillén Foundation was created, with the aim of helping and providing care and solidarity operations to the Bolivian population, which according to campaigns and links with international ORG's manages to give opportunity of medical care to the less benefited people.
Currently Prostacheck is the only clinic specialized in Urology in Bolivia, with a complete service (hospitalization, operating theater, intensive care, green lasser, holmuin lasser, external lithotripsy, internal lithotripsy, among others). Another growth differentiator is the medical tourism projected to be launched in September, contributing to the development of medicine and tourism in the country. Another transcendental fact about Prostacheck's CEO, Dr. Alvaro Ramallo, is that he is the author of two of his own books and other three collaborations related to medicine in Bolivia.
Finally, Prostacheck's mission is to offer an option for high quality health care at an adequate cost, contributing to the health and quality of life of the population of Tarija, through comprehensive and efficient services, based on diagnostics, studies and medical and/or surgical treatments, with modern equipment and facilities and a medical team recognized for their excellence and professionalism. On the other hand, Prostacheck's vision is to be a nationally and internationally recognized health institution, guaranteeing a humanitarian, timely and efficient service.
