Introduction
The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal University located in Nsukka, Enugu State, South East Nigeria. The University was established by Act of Eastern Nigeria of 1955 and came into existence and operation at the hills of Nigeria’s independence in October 1960. The Federal Government of Nigeria took over the University at the end of Civil War with effect from 1973. The University of Nigeria will celebrate its 60thanniversary in October this year (2020).

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has a 5-point strategic agenda: to offer quality academic and professional programmes; to develop a student-centred intellectually stimulating and technologically advanced teaching, learning and research environment; to build a University that will serve as an intellectual and cultural centre for the promotion of new ideas and partnership; to promote staff and students welfare; and to pursue partnership, professionalism, academic freedom, integrity and social responsibility.
