The University of Brescia is a medium size Italian public University that works in four macro areas: Medicine, Engineering, Economics and Law. The eight departments represent the disciplines that build the cultural fundamentals of the macro areas and host about 600 professors and researchers, as well as a large group of post-doctoral researchers. There are about 15.000 undergraduate and Master Degree students and, in addition, PhD students and medical residents. The administrative and research structure contains 500 technical and administrative professionals. The headquarters occupy historical buildings in the center of Brescia, which house the administrative offices and the Schools of Economics and Law; in the area of the Spedali Civili (Hospital) the campus includes the Schools of Medicine and Engineering, as well as the sport structures, the canteen and the dormitories. The two sites are conveniently linked by a newly built underground. Brescia is a city of 200,000, located in eastern Lombardy, next to Veneto.
