GTUC is a centre of higher learning offering certificate, diploma, bachelors, and post?graduate degrees in Information and Communication Technologies. GTUC is the only university in the West African sub?region focusing on Telecommunication Engineering. In just nine years, GTUC has grown from 173 students to more than 5,000 students pursuing programs in three core areas: - Telecom Engineering, - Informatics and - IT Business. The vision of GTUC is to be the centre of academic excellence providing training in technology oriented education to meet the needs of Ghana and the sub-region. GTUC has professional, experienced and dedicated teaching and research staff who are committed to helping students excel in their field of study. Over the years, the set of courses for the programmes offered at GTUC have been reviewed to reflect changes in technology and needs of the job market. The curriculum of all the programmes offered at GTUC are developed using national and international standards to ensure that students who graduate from the University College are able to compete successfully in the global job market. The mission of the University College is to be a centre of excellence in education, research, teaching, intellectual creativity and innovation. The University continues to promote relevant cutting-edge technology, leadership development and an enterprise culture to enhance the delivery of value to its customers and stakeholders. Number of Departments and lecture halls GTUC has a dedicated internet bandwidth of 14 megabytes, one of the biggest bandwidth owned by an educational institution in the country. It has also started developing an online platform to support distance education, including - an e?Library system that provides students and faculty access to electronic resources and an online student portal that allows students and staff access to academic and non?academic resources through the internet. - The University College has five campuses (Accra, Kumasi, Koforidua, Ho and Takoradi) fitted with smart classrooms, nine (9) computer laboratories three (3) video conferencing facilities and four (4) telecommunication laboratories. - Our solar energy project provides 24hour power supply to dedicated facilities such as classrooms, video conferencing, laboratories and IT infrastructure. - Number of Departments o Faculty of I.T.
