Public hearing ‘CSR as a priority of Regional business transformation: Multiplicity of CSR advantages to work on long-term perspective. Adopting the CSR policy which reflects public interests.

One of the initiatives of the European Business Assembly is aimed at involving regional business in the dialogue on corporate responsibility and promoting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, other international agreements and programs in the field of sustainable development.

Realising this important initiative EBA, as the institution with Special Consultative Status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), organised Public hearing ‘CSR as a priority of Regional business transformation: Multiplicity of CSR advantages to work on long-term perspective. Adopting the CSR policy which reflects public interests.’ It was the first event, conducted by EBA in UN office in Geneva - Palace of Nations.

Public hearings keynote speaker, EBA Director Ivan Savvov raised vital issues of fake news and fight with them in his presentation ‘CSR and work of anti-fake news agency Oxford’. 

During the event  EBA members and partners, including Anna Kolisz, Vice-President and Managing Director of Ankol Poland, Dato’ Sri Dr. Jessy Lai, Group CEO of MON SPACE (M) SDN BHD, Malaysia, Dr. Mohammad Salem Omaid, CEO and President of Azizi Bank, Afghanistan, Salvatore D'amico, CEO of Shipping Company - ISHIMA Pte Ltd, Italy, Alleem Rashid, Chairman  of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, UAE and others discussed such topics: sustainable development goals as part of business strategy and corporate culture, CSR as a main tool to increase the company’s attractiveness for investors and consumers, CSR as part of PR, marketing and corporate communications and information openness and corporate transparency as a necessary element of doing business in the modern world. 

The Public hearings in Geneva started new directions of events, organized by Europe Business Assembly as the institution with ECOSOC Special Consultative Status.  

EBA would be glad to invite  members to continue such important dialogue in future  in order not only to discuss how to implement corporate social responsibility policies in practice, but also to demonstrate the achievements of regional leaders in this field.
